Benjamin Miles is currently a senior trumpet performance major at Oklahoma State University. Following his undergrad, Miles plans to pursue a master’s degree and career in film orchestration.

Arranging music since middle school, Miles is always looking for new music to arrange and introduce to the chamber brass medium. When arranging a new piece, he looks to add new textural and technical elements bringing new energy to the music without detracting from the original integrity of the work.

Miles’ arrangements have been played at the International Trumpet Guild and in both the semifinal and final rounds of the National Trumpet Competition. In 2015, the Oklahoma State Trumpet Ensemble won the National Trumpet Competition with his arrangement of J. S. Bach’s “Toccata and Fugue in D minor.”
